Pinington were appointed as main building contractor to undertake the new Diabetes unit which included an extensive internal refurbishment and remodelling to an existing physiotherapy ward and a new entrance extension forming a lobby and extended waiting area.
The works included an extensive demolition and alterations period and incorporated vast amounts of new M&E equipment including a new air handling unit situated in the the rear courtyard of the building. The fit our works then included a new bespoke reception desk and the formation of waiting areas, break out spaces and treatment / consultation rooms along with clean and dirty utility areas to cater for day clinics.
The final element of the project was the new entrance extension including standing seam roof cladding and glazing to incorporate a new entrance lobby prior to the main waiting area.
The works were completed in 20 weeks and took extensive planning and resourcing however many obstacles were overcome to handover another highly commendable project.
