Pinington completed this multi phase project over a period of 3 years at Westmorland General Hospital.
The first phase of works was to undertake a new 4 storey extension to house a new operating theatre, ground floor storage and a 2 storey plantroom specifically built to house all the key and critical M&E plant for the project. The second phase of works was to create a Mess Area, Changing Area, Dirty Utility and Theatres 4 & 5. The final phase of works involved a refrbishment of the existing theatre corridor out of hours and to extend and re-fit the existing recovery area.
The scheme involved the coordination of all the mechanical and electrical services to serve the critical equipment for the life saving facilities. The project was extremely complex due to the location of the existing theatre on site, proximity to other live theatres and complexity of the work required.
The new plantroom included a new air handling unit, new ductwork and ventilation system, medical gas installation, medical pendant installation along with a full electrical re-wire and BMS controls to serve the new plant.
The electrical work was excellently coordinated by our in-house team. The finished project shows the hard work put in by all Pinington staff, sub-contractors, design team and last but not least a very accommodating client!
