The East Lancashire Hospice project was a combination of new build and refurbishment across 5 phases of works over a 56 week contract.

Phase 1 was to refurbish and extend the existing dining area to form a new catering kitchen / café area with seating and recreational spaces within the dining area. Phases 2 and 3 were the formation of new staff offices, staff facilities and to upgrade the new staircase with granite stair treads and glass balustrades. Phase 4 was to form a contemplation room and craft room with very intricate details to the contemplation room being fully round. Phase 5 was to extend two patient / family bedroom facilities to provide more space for loved ones to spend quality time with patients.

The project was extremely challenging due to the hospice staying live at all times, therefore careful consideration had to be given at all times. Lyn Stevenson Chief Executive of East Lancashire Hospice gave a special thanks to Project Manager Nick Pinington for his hard work, pragmatic approach and diligence during the project and thanked the Pinington team for the hard work and effort to achieve such a fantastic space.
