The works consisted of a single storey infill extension to the school’s main entrance, providing an entrance area, cafe, dining area, accessible toilet, parent’s meeting room and corridor through to the existing building.
There was also internal alterations to provide a new office, an opening formed between the dining area and existing hall, a larger staff room, together with PPA area, a new reprographics room.
The extension was constructed on mini piles, with reinforced concrete ground beams, with the ground floor construction of pre cast concrete planks. The new external walls were facing brickwork, the roof bitumen felt flat roof, with large lantern rooflights in the cafe and dining area and other pyramid rooflights. There was also a bespoke galvanised and powder coated steel canopy with a double barrel design roof across the entire new external elevation.
The space provided now gives the school a fully functioning cafe area to cater for the general public and functions and the flow and layout of the school has been greatly improved to assist with day to day operations.
