This Design & Build project designed by HPA Architects of Lancaster with Structural engineering by Addison Projects and Mechanical & Electrical by Pinington provides open plan office space, design studio and four laboratories linked over two floors to the existing Headquarters.
Using steel frame and suspended floor construction, SFS Walling system to the external envelope cladded in Kingspan Optimo panels and aluminum windows. To the interiors high class structural silicone sealed glazing system was installed for the link corridors. Internal walls were constructed out of acoustic metal partitioning providing meeting rooms, toilets and changing rooms.
A fully sustainable Mechanical and Electrical installation was provided incorporating a heat recovery system for heating and cooling the building via air handling units with a fully controlled lighting system which provided the most energy efficient solution for this particular scheme. All services are linked to an independent BMS system.
