Renovating the listed Ellel House, Lancaster, with careful restoration of its historic features was just one of the challenges undertaken by the Pinington team during the construction of this mixed residential development for Hillcroft Nursing Homes Ltd.
Careful consideration was taken to ensure special features were retained and restored to their former glory within the existing Ellel House which has been converted into 5 assisted living luxury apartments for private sale. All works and key stages of the project were overseen and monitored by the local conservation officer.
In conjunction with the restoration works, Pinington also developed a new build 2 storey, 30 bed timber framed nursing home which links to the existing listed house. This new development also includes a specially designed courtyard surrounded by 8 new assisted living bungalow properties for private sale.
Pinington undertook the complete management of the building works together with production and manufacturing of all joinery items, all M&E elements and externals works, which included civils and landscaping.
Pinington were appointed by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust to provide the new Maternity Triage Unit and The Willow (Bereavement) Suite.
